Fauna
Sumba is a paradise for ornithologists.
There are eight endemic species present only on this island and nowhere else in the world including: hornbill, five-colored capuchin, the palm civet, the mandarin finch, the dove, the quail and the flycatcher, and the famous feathered bird black and with an impressive yellow beak, bats and butterflies.
Sumba Island is well known for its horses, buffaloes, pigs, cows.
